If I had to pick my personal favorite treatment at Therahaus Wellness Med Spa, it would absolutely be the combination of BBL + MOXI. This duo is one of my go-to recommendations because it truly gives patients that healthy, glowing, refreshed skin we all want with minimal downtime and customizable results. What Is BBL?
BBL (BroadBand Light) is an advanced light therapy treatment that targets pigmentation, redness, acne, broken capillaries, and sun damage.
Think of BBL like a super smart flashlight that uses different colors of light to target different skin concerns. Just like different flashlight filters highlight different things, BBL uses specific wavelengths of light to “seek out” pigment, redness, acne bacteria, and signs of aging in the skin. The light energy gently heats the skin and tells your body to
repair and rejuvenate itself – kind of like giving your skin instructions to make healthier, clearer collagen-rich skin.
What is MOXI?
MOXI is a gentle fractional laser that uses a 1927 nm wavelength to target water within the skin. Since water is naturally found in our skin cells, the laser creates tiny, controlled areas of injury that stimulate collagen production and skin renewal.
In other terms, MOXI works by heating the water in the skin to trigger your body’s natural healing process – improving texture, tone, fine lines, superficial pigment, and overall skin quality with minimal downtime. It is one of my favorite treatments for achieving that fresh, glowing skin look.
One of the best things about MOXI is that it’s safe for all skin types and can be done year-round, making it an amazing “prejuvenation” treatment for younger patients and a rejuvenation treatment for more mature skin.

What Is Downtime Like?
Most patients experience a few days of redness and a rough, sandpaper-like texture as the skin heals. MEDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) are tiny, crusty dark specks that appear on the skin one to three days after treatment. They are completely normal and indicate that your body is removing old, damaged cells and excess pigment from the surface to reveal fresh, renewed skin underneath. These spots will temporarily darken before flaking off. Many patients are back to normal activities within a few days, making this a very manageable treatment for busy schedules.

What to Expect During Your BBL + MOXI Treatment
Your treatment visit is designed to be comfortable, efficient, and customized to your skin. We typically start with the BBL. A cooling ultrasound gel is applied to the skin, and the handpiece is gently passed over targeted areas as pulses of light energy are delivered. Most patients describe BBL as a quick, snapping sensation with warmth, but it is very tolerable and fast.
After BBL, a topical numbing cream is applied and left on for about 30 minutes to ensure comfort for the next step. Once the skin is fully numbed, we move onto MOXI. The laser is passed evenly across the treatment area, creating a warm, prickly sensation as it delivers controlled energy into the skin to stimulate renewal and collagen production. The combination sequence allows us to first address pigmentation and redness with BBL, then refine texture and tone with MOXI for a comprehensive skin rejuvenation treatment in one visit.
The Glow Is Real
The best way I can describe BBL + MOXI is that it gives your skin a refreshed, healthy glow that makeup can’t replicate. Patients often tell us their skin looks clearer, smoother, and more radiant after just one treatment. While results can be seen after just one treatment, a series of three is recommended for best results.
